Yoga at The Shard fuelled by California Walnuts!
California Walnuts showed us how to get #WellnessCracked with yoga and breakfast in The Shard.
We all know the importance of starting the day right, and yesterday was no exception!
60 men and women took to the sky and joined us bright and early for yoga in The Shard to celebrate wellness in association with California Walnuts. Surrounded by the city’s epic skyline, Yogasphere took us through our paces for 60 minutes of energising yoga at 800ft.
The event began with a talk from special host Julie Montagu, veteran yogi and Instagram sensation, who reminded guests of the importance of fuelling your body right. A firm believer of the nutritional quality of nuts – walnuts in particular – she reiterated how making small, healthy changes, like swapping your 4pm snack to a handful of nuts, is the blueprint for longterm health. Walnuts are, in fact, the only nut significantly high in ALA Omega-3s, essential fatty acids critical to various body processes. Your heart, brain, blood pressure, and even sleep, can be affected by Omega-3s! But walnuts don’t only serve us in health. They’re also an incredibly tasty and versatile ingredient, used for snacks, salads, and beyond.
Lucky then that a breakfast fuelled by the power nut awaited us post-yoga. Guests chose from banana and walnut muffins, overnight oat pots with mango and blueberries with walnut milk, croissants with cinnamon walnut butter, raw walnut flapjacks, yoghurt with walnut granola, and plant-packed drinks. Our fave was the mango, turmeric and walnut smoothie!
Guests were sent home with present-packed goodie bags – which included a water bottle, snacks, and gym-bag beauty staples – but not before getting the perfect selfie of their action-packed morning. Already on the 69th floor, guests were even invited to head up to the 72nd floor – the highest viewing platform in London – to really see the city waking up.
It’s safe to say we had #WellnessCracked!
